  14. 1. Introduction
  15.  
  16. Welcome to the Special Aminet-Edition of Wildfire ! This release
  17. is not ment to be a crippled version of a commercial program - 
  18. its just a free compilation of codes to
  19.  -create YAFA-animations and to
  20.  -design YAFA-animation-projects.
  21.  
  22. We have got a lot response to our YAFA-animation-format
  23. and therefore decided to release a converter for such animations.
  24. The choice of releasing a special version of our animation-system
  25. Wildfire is just to minimize our work. Wildfire runs stable
  26. since over a year - so why to create a separate converter ?
  27. To enable the Project-Editor is a last-minute-decision.
  28. But because projects are a typical YAFA-feature this may be
  29. a good idea.

  32. 2. Installation
  33.  
  34. Unlike to the "normal" distribution all Wildfire-related files
  35. including the conig-file "Wildfire_AminetCD.config" are hold
  36. in one directory. This rootdrawer-drawer can be specified
  37.  -using the commandline-option "-root",
  38.  -using the tooltype "ROOT" or
  39.  -assigning "wf:" to it.
  40. If you don't like assigns or have already installed another
  41. Wildfire-version use the 1st or 2nd choice.

  43. 3. Features
  44.  
  45. The following features of the full version are availabe
  46. in the Special Aminet-Edition:
  47.  
  48.  a) Converter
  49.     -all features except processing mpeg-streams and using the Processor
  50.  
  51.  b) Project-Editor
  52.  
  53.     -all features except testing of Protracker-modules from
  54.      within Wildfire (this function needs the wildfire.library)
  55.  
  56.  c) Player
  57.  
  58.     -all features
  59.  
  60.  d) TMaker
  61.  
  62.     -only viewing preview-animations
  63.  
  64.  e) PlugIns
  65.  
  66.     -only two savers "ilbm" and "jpeg"
  67.     -any PlugIn from another Wildfire-distribution cannot be used
  68.      from within this version.

  70.  f) Preferences

  72.     -uses the file "<root>/Wildfire_AminetCD.config"
  73.      (don't change this setting)

  78. Currently we plan to extend the YAFA-format by image-depths 15 and 24.
  79. A such updated special edition will be available as soon as these
  80. features are implemented.

  82. 5. The full distribution

  84. The full version of Wildfire which may be ordered for a few dollars
  85. (see the guide-file for details) has hundreds of more features like
  86.  -about 80 PlugIns
  87.  -complex 3D-effects
  88.  -composition of images and 3D-objects
  89.  -function-plotters (data-, z- and parametric plots)
  90.  -reading of mpeg-streams
  91.  -envelopes (both graphical and procedural)
  92.  -transition-maker to create wipes between animations or images
  93.  -superpostion of effects in 2D or 3D space
  94.  -phong-shading
  95.  -high operation-speed
